One of the most important parts of an AR-15 is the handguard. Handguards have gone through many changes over the years from the plastic clamshell-style to the free float system. Both systems give the shooter a comfortable grip while protecting their hand from the heat that radiates from the barrel. Both systems have many different designs and features built into them but the free-float system tends to be more modular. While some of the drop-in handguards offer M-Lok slots and QD mount points, most free float systems offer those same options and usually more available slots. Most handguard options have built-in options for mounting lights, lasers, pop-up sights, etc., and those that don't have them built-in may have M-Lok or Keymod options for mounting accessories.

Material of Handguard: The MK4 Super Modular Rail AR-15 Freefloat Handguard by Geissele has a T3 Hard Coat Anodization and is made from 6061-T6 Aluminum.
Type of Top Rail: This MK4 Super Modular Rail Handguard is CNC machined with a Picatinny rail across the top of the entire handguard.
Finish: Type 3 hard coat anodizing is used with the MK4 Super Modular Rail handguard to increase corrosion resistance.
QD: The MK4 Super Modular Rail Handguard has 4 QD mounts CNC machined into the handguard for quick and easy sling attachment/detachment.
