Strike Industries JCOMP Gen 2 (308/7.62) Muzzle Brake

The SI JCOMP Gen2 is the classic Type 89 compensator re-engineered and updated for the 21st century. Due to end-user feedback, the favorite features of the original are retained, but the J Comp now features increased muzzle rise compensation and is available in 7.62x39mm and .308/7.62x51mm in addition to 5.56x45/.223. Now also compatible with Oppressor and FerFrans concussion reduction devices. The J-COMP concept comes from the Type 89 Japanese assault rifle used by the Japan Self-Defense Forces, the Japan Coast Guard's Special Security Team units, and the Special Assault Team.

Having a muzzle device on your gun makes it way more controllable! There are other key reasons to add certain devices to your gun. The recoil, muzzle rise, sound, flash, and the amount of the blast felt upon firing are all significantly reduced. In some cases, the right muzzle device can cut these in half. This can make larger calibers like the increasingly more popular .308 Winchester’s recoil more manageable. With lower recoil and muzzle rise, you’ll be able to make follow up shots more quickly and more precisely. If you shoot a weapon under 20 inches long, and you want to be able to see after firing at night. Then some type of flash hider is a must. Flash cans also come into play when trying to reduce the blast felt upon firing your weapon.

About This Muzzle Device: Muzzle Brake - A muzzle brake is designed to reduce the amount of recoil you feel when you fire your weapon. A muzzle brake has slots or holes called ports cut into the sides of the device that allows the escaping gases to move in a way that helps to reduce the recoil felt. A quality muzzle brake can significantly lower the felt recoil in your weapon. Which is one of many reasons why gun owners make this device a key part of their collections.

Threading: 5/8x24 Threads are common for muzzle devices made for .30 caliber projectiles and above, most commonly used on .308, 7.62 NATO, .300 Blackout, 7.62x39, 6.5 Creedmoor, & 6.5 Grendel.

Finish: Manganese Phosphate - Manganese Phosphate finishes are used on barrels to protect against corrosion and wear. Manganese Phosphate finish is considered for its toughness, and is used in multiple different applications such as aerospace, ordnance, and other firearms-related parts.

Chambers: This Muzzle Brake has 2 chambers to catch the expanding gasses and divert them to the sides of the shooter, reducing recoil and increasing controllability.

Ports: This Muzzle Device has 2 ports to compensate for the felt recoil and reduce muzzle climb by pushing the barrel back down, making the shooting experience feel flat without jumping off target.
